Do Emails Work?

Email marketing is the newest trend in conducting business. however as it is stated on the article, marketing data shows that email marketing is doing well and at the same time it has some disadvantages as well. I don't know if it works for other people but as for me, I don't really like receiving emails from non of my friends. I mean, I tend to just disregard those emails should I know they are like spam mails. but maybe for some it works. And another factor to consider is the product being sold. The response of the people will also depend on how the strategy is presented.
